Kimberly and Johnny, both raised in the Bay Area, have known each other since High School and been dating since.  Kimberly, on the journey to obtain her PhD, moved to Arizona with Johnny and their two dogs.  Both are a fun couple who love their pets, and have grown much closer together since moving out on their own.  While they wanted to visit home, they would drive back and forth from Arizona to the Bay Area to see their beloved friends and family.

Back in November 2013, an unfortunate event happened – Kimberly and Johnny got into a very bad car accident on their way driving back from California to Arizona.  Kimberly was driving, and Johnny had asked her if she was doing okay.  She replied, “yeah, of course”, and she said she may have been in a different state of mind, because shortly after, she fell asleep behind the wheel and they drove off a cliff.  Kimberly broke her entire spine, neck, vertebrae, cracked a little bit of her pelvis, had a concussion, and totaled the entire car.  Johnny on the other hand, didn’t have a scratch, but the unfortunate hospital bills took even more money than they were planning to spend… and they were planning to get married.  For a while, Kimberly wasn’t able to talk on the phone or go on the computer much because she wasn’t allowed to strain her brain, so much of my communications were through our mutual friend, Cassie.  (Thank you Cassie for bringing us together!!)

Luckily, after a turn of events, and Kimberly’s very speedy recovery, Kimberly and Johnny got married!  In a cute town of Portola Valley, Kimberly and Johnny said their “I do’s” at Portola Valley Presbyterian Church with their closest family and friends.  The church is gorgeous and quaint, covered with redwood trees.  It was a joyous and happy day for the two.  After their ceremony, Kimberly and Johnny went to John Bentley’s in Redwood City for their wedding dinner reception.
