Six months ago, Kit began planning to propose to his girlfriend, Quan…
Kit loves Disneyland, and so he had been planning to take Quan to the happiest place on earth for a while. Quan, who lives in Davenport Iowa, and Kit in San Jose, California, met in San Jose, and then traveled to Orange County (John Wayne Airport) the day of. In preparation for the big day, Kit informed Quan that one of his friends (aka me) would be coming to hang out and to expand my portfolio. Little did Quan know, Kit and I have been planning for an amazing proposal.
Supposedly, Wednesdays are supposed to be the “lighter” foot traffic days, however, on one of the hottest days in May, it was 104 degrees fahrenheit at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. My friend Ray came along with Quan and Kit – it was our first time meeting Quan, and we were probably more nervous than Kit… The plan for the proposal changed a few times. With the Pirates of Caribbean being closed, the line to take a photo with Mickey Mouse being long, we walked straight to the statue with Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. That statue meant a lot to Kit, for he knew there was a future.
As we got to the park, Kit wanted to be sure to get Minnie Mouse ears for Quan. To help convince her, I suggested I’d get matching Minnie Mouse ears so we could wear them around the park – I had Quan try on all sorts of ears… and even tried to get her to try on the Minnie Mouse Bride ears!
After purchasing Minnie Mouse ears, we walked into Disneyland, we walked straight through Main Street in Disneyland right for the Statue with Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Caste.
So she said YES!!!! To celebrate the rest of the scorching hot day, we went on Indiana Jones, Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours, had lunch at Blue Bayou, pineapple Dole Whip from the Dole Whip Stand, Churros, walked around the park and even visited Toon Town, and then rode the train back around to Main Street. Quan and Kit went back to the Disneyland Resort to go rest and have dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen. After, Kit had coordinated with us to leave some goodies in their bedroom for when they returned.
What a beautiful and exciting day. I’m so glad that now, Quan and Kit can share something they both love, the love for Disney! Many many congratulations Quan + Kit!!
Thank you to one of my dearest friends, Ray, for coming along and also video recording their proposal!! Thank you to Wedding & Event Coordinator, Kelley, from Picture Perfect Events for helping us with a beautiful dozen long stemmed red roses from Wenfloral Design Studio and our Dessert Tour Los Angeles for picking out the most popular, mouthwatering cookies from Milk Jar cookies, and champagne for when they returned to their room.
After Quan + Kit left the Disneyland Park, since Ray and I were still there, we decided to have a little bit of fun before the day ended!
