Two weekends ago, I attended a 3 day photography workshop in San Francisco, taught by world class photographers, Tauran Woo and JeZa (Zabrina & Jeremy) Photography.
I met Tauran, Zabrina, and Jeremy in April 2010 when I began my photography career and started taking classes from our mentor, Scott Robert Lim. Zabrina and Jeremy, coordinators of the Scott Robert Lim one day workshops in San Francisco, became really close friends throughout both our journeys becoming full time photographers.
All three of them have become very close once we all traveled to NYC in September 2010 for one of Scott Robert Lim’s one week workshop. Shortly after, I traveled with JeZa to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing for another one of Scott’s workshops, then to Paris in May 2011, Hawaii (along with Tauran) in August 2011. In December 2011, we, a small group of Scott Robert Lim’s mentees all traveled to Miami and took a cruise to the Bahamas.
Tauran, one of Scott’s first photography mentees, has grown to where he is today, and have been a very respected photographer amongst our community. I look up to Tauran as an amazing peer; for he has helped me throughout my journey through the good times and the bad. The first wedding I assisted was for Tauran back in 2010; and I also assisted him in Pasadena, CA. He has become a very great person that I look up to, ask for advice when needed, and has supported and guided me on my photography career and helped me to where I am today.
Once the three announced they were having a workshop in San Francisco, I wanted to support Tauran and JeZa by taking their workshop. I’m a strong believer in continuing education, and I believe it helps inspire and keeps me even more motivated with what I do and how I do things along my photography journey.
Here are three images that I took during the workshop:
Two of these images are taken with my Nikon D800; and the last one is taken with the new Fuji X-E1.
Here are also a few fun images from the workshop:
Over the course of the weekend during this workshop, I got to reunite with old friends, as well as meet with new friends. I learned a lot from this workshop, and I am so proud of Tauran and JeZa’s first joint workshop. I feel that in any profession, there is always something new to learn at any stage in your career – whether you’re a complete newbie, or years ahead. I’m very honored to be there and fortunate that I could have attended, not only to support my peers but to be there a part of their photography journey. Thank you Tauran, Zabrina, and Jeremy for an amazing weekend – I had a BLAST. Thank you so much for ending the weekend with really yummy and great Shabu Shabu to celebrate the birthday of yours truly. You guys are amazing!
Thank you to all the great sponsors: Fundy, SmugMug, Scott Robert Studio, and West Coast Albums.
