A few months ago in February, I took portraits of the Eight Count Dance Group and shortly after, they invited me to one of their open dance events. There, Shannon warmed us up with some stretches and The Wobble, Janette showed us some Bali-wood, and Joseph taught us their recent choreographed dances. I shook my booty, learned a few new moves, and had a great time. Since this was their open dance night, a few other friends of theirs came and interviewed to join the dance group.
Weeks later, I’ve been watching Joan and Shayquan easily fit into the Dance Group. They performed at places such as Santana Row to the song “Dare You to Move”. Joan and Shayquan said it was hard work learning the new routines, but they look like they became family in no time. Below are Joan and Shayquan’s portraits!
