Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery Wedding | Pleasanton, CA

Over the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of 2nd shooting and assisting for a handful of photographers, and today, I’m showing you several beautiful details from a wedding I shot for a photography friend, Ed Carlo Garcia.

While I take my “primary photographer” hat off, and put my “2nd photographer/assistant” hat on, I follow several etiquette rules that I respect and have for myself as well as others.  Honored, I am there to help the main photographer with his event, whether it be a wedding, engagement, etc.  Depending on what the needs are of the primary photographer, I will figure out what they need and what they would like me to do on that day.  I am always aware of my surroundings and ensure that I stay out of the primary’s shot, and if they need lighting, I’m there to help assist with their lighting whenever possible.  Because I am working for that photographer for that day, all the images that I take are for the primary to use.  If they grant me permission or allow me to post the pictures, I will wait until they post theirs.  If they use my pictures, it makes me happy knowing I created imagery for the end result.

Several weeks ago, I shot four days in a row, one engagement shoot and three weddings straight for other photography friends.  One day includes a wedding at Casa Real for Ed.  Recently, I haven’t posted weddings for other photographers, but Farinaz and Hany’s wedding was so beautiful and exquisite, I had to take some time to feature theirs.  Named “Wedding of the Year” by Iron Man Magazine, it was elegant, glamorous, and painted with purple, gold, and candles everywhere.  They had chandeliers brought in to hang from the ceiling, lighting to light their path down the aisle, gold drapery for the walls, beautiful floral arrangements by Nicole Ha, invitations and lettering made from Australia, and cute little desserts from Hannah’s Bakery for a yummy dessert bar.  It was a beautiful wedding.

Take a look at Ed Carlo Garcia’s imagery and the rest of the wedding here.

All images in this blog post are shot for Ed Carlo Garcia.  Enjoy!
