Every year, Nails Magazine has a contest for millions of nail artists to submit. The ladies at Shear Fashion (www.shearfashions.com), Rochelle and Phoebe, were ready to create something for the January 2012 Nails cover, and I was honored to help!!
I’ve been in a Nail frenzy this past year. I LOVE looking at the ads from Sephora to see what’s new, and one of the bigger trends now are nails. It’s been around for eons, but I think they’re making a comeback this year. Phoebe recently started a 100 day Nail challenge – she’s had girls come over to their boutique salon in San Jose and designed their nails to match the girls’ personalities and to express her own creativity. I even got my nails done and had acrylics for the first time! They took a little over a week to get used to, and sadly had to change my lifestyle a bit! These are my nails, the sharp shooter:
So weeks later after I got my nails done by Phoebe, I was there at Shear Fashion again, but with my camera in my hands. After helping brainstorm ideas for weeks, we were ready to execute! The winner of this contest gets released in the January edition, so we thought of ideas revolving around the holidays and events in January. Since Rochelle and her husband recently got back from beautiful Alaska, she wanted to do something revolving around snow and a martini glass.
Here’s what we came up with, something frosty:
And since there is only one special holiday that always rings in the new year, we came up with this:
Happy New Year!!
I had a REALLY amazing time with Shear Fashion and thought their nail designs and our collaboration of ideas was amazing. I’m crossing my fingers and toes to hope all things go well! Good luck!!!!!!
And if you ever need your nails, hair, color, etc done and you’re in the San Jose area, please contact Shear Fashion! These girls are great 🙂
