SR x CM Discovery Journey to China Photography Workshop: A Taste of the Extraordinary Life | Shanghai & Beijing Photographer

Words cannot describe how fantastic, amazing, and incredible this China 2010 workshop was – this journey just keeps getting better and better.

During the last week of October, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a collaborative workshop with an International Award Winning Photographer, Scott Robert, and the top Hong Kong Photographer, CM Leung.  This workshop concluded Scott Robert’s 2010 World Tour. Together, they gathered amazing students from all over the world and taught us their many photography secrets about lighting, posing, composition, post processing, and the 7 Principles for Living the Extraordinary Life.  In September, I attended Scott Robert’s NYC Workshop, and as amazing as it was, China’s workshop brought the World Tour to another level.

As this is my second Destination Workshop with Scott, I realized that he gives us a taste of the extraordinary life.  Gathering photographers from all parts of the world, he pulls us out of our daily grind, and unites us in a country that we may have never been to.  From the moment we open our eyes in the morning until the second we crash at night, we spend time together traveling, see new places, sharing new ideas, insights, tips, etc.  Scott and CM Leung teach us new things, concepts, and how-to’s.  CM taught us how to train our eyes to see the light in different ways you couldn’t imagine.  Scott shows us more posing, and off camera flash techniques.

While Scott and CM teach us the technicalities, Scott is also able to mentor us by watching, analyzing, and understanding us on levels deeper than before.  Emotionally challenging, by being open and transparent, Scott is able to help us realize and pinpoint our roadblocks and help take us another million steps forward.  Understanding, acknowledging, and taking steps to improve ourselves helps us reanalyze our challenges, and rebuild ourselves to reach our full potential.  Scott helps keep our passion alive and growing, and proves that its there, only if we want it.

On this continuous journey, I had the chance to learn more about my own vision, and discover more about myself and where I stand today.  I go to these workshops because I learn so many things like how to set up and take the shot I want.  As an added value, I get to meet a handful of new SR friends in addition to deepening my current relationships with my other SR friends.  Meeting and being friends with Scott’s Community is truly a blessing – I love them, and they’re a part of my family too.  You can read more about how special some of these people are to me – click here.

The Scott Robert Crew – China 2010

I learned that there’s more to learn in the world of Photography, and a lot more practice to do, and that our styles will always evolve.  I understand the value and importance of education, and know that with having a mentor, we can go far.  I know I couldn’t have done this without Scott and the rest of the Scott Robert Community.  Each one of you have stepped into my life and left a footprint, unique in every way.  Thank you.

Many thank you’s to the extraordinary help of our workshop coordinator, Zabrina of JeZa and her wonderful father!

Once we take on our journey to greatness we immediately start becoming an inspiration because everyone knows how hard it is to live their dream. Please keep sharing your journey. People and potential clients LOVE to see us photographers evolve, break new boundaries, get better, be more successful, etc. Thanks Michelle for being an inspiration, it’s not where we start but where we end up.ReplyCancel

Scott, THANK YOU for being an inspiration to me – I don’t know where I’d be today! It is weird changing and evolving, and I think this blog is the place to do it. I know I need to be patient, but I can’t wait until I reach my goals and always continue to create new ones.ReplyCancel

It’s undeniable that having you around, our time together been extremely “time of our live” sort of feeling and our time together is very memorable.
