I unofficially met Tiffany from a few weddings that I photographed over the past two years.  Last year, when photographing Julia + Derek and Anna + Curran’s engagement sessions, as well as Jane + Anthony, they shared with me that one of their girlfriends was pregnant and looking for maternity photos!  YAY!  Eight months later, and after welcoming Karly into this world, here we are – not taking their maternity photos, but taking their engagement photos!!

With El Nino this year, planning outdoor engagement sessions have been challenging due to the unexpected the weather, especially if my clients are looking for nice sunny photos!  With Tiffany + Keith’s day, we planned to visit three outdoor locations – Sutro Baths, Strawberry Hill or Shakespeare Garden, and then Yerba Buena Gardens.  After watching the weather very closely, there was a one hour period where it was supposed to rain so I was hoping it would create really awesome rain shot photos!  We first went to our first location, Sutro Baths, and found out they closed off the area for that day because it was too dangerous.  As an alternative, we went to the side of Sutro Baths with unique tall trees and took a few photos until the downpour began!  Due to the rain, we decided to forego Strawberry Hill or Shakespeare Garden, since the rain was still coming down pretty hard.  Instead, we went to San Francisco City Hall where the architecture is beautiful, and Tiffany’s red gown fit perfectly.  Lastly after the rain stopped, we went somewhere unique, to Yerba Buena Gardens where we took their last shots in front of the amazing waterfall and on the merry go round!

I had a blast with these two, and can’t wait for their wedding in September!
